OnePlus X Now Available In The United States and Canada With An Invite

Unlike the European counterpart, On-Guard in the U.S. can only be enrolled upon the purchase of a new OnePlus 2 or X. There is no grace period for slightly new purchases though OnePlus says that it is working with Assurant to offer a second chance enrollment.

The Onyx variant OnePlus X is priced at Rs. 16,999, while the Ceramic version is priced much higher at Rs. 22,999. The OnePlus comes with an LTPS LCD whereas, on the other hand, the OnePlus X will feature an AMOLED display.

What are you getting on your OnePlus X? The ceramic model will be a premium offering, and the number of units that will go for sale will be limited to 10,000. Interesting, the device comes with an alert slider on the left-hand side, similar to the OnePlus 2. The OnePlus 2 have a 5.5-inch 1080p resolution display while OnePlus X has a 5-inch 1080p display. That works out to a 441ppi pixel density. We need to remind you that this has lower specs than the OnePlus 2 flagship.

Previously, if you wanted to fix your OnePlus device, you had to ship it back to China, but now that the company is pairing with a USA company to handle repairs, the turnaround for Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA) and repairs should be much quicker. For this coverage, the price is set at $65 for the OP2 and $50 for the OPX. But that void has been filled by the OnePlus X as the latest device offers the microSD card slot, which can add up to 128GB.

The biggest aspect missing in the OnePlus 2 was that there was no expandable storage option available on the device.

At first look, these two phones appear to share the same basic rear camera setup, but that’s not exactly true as there are notable differences between them. The cost is $80 for the OP2 and $60 for the OPX. It means there should be crispier selfies on the OPX than OP2.

OnePlus On-Guard will use Assurant in the US and Canada for device insurance
