Talking to reporters on Monday after chairing a high-level meeting, the interior minister said that before the promulgation of the policy, only 19 INGOs working in Pakistan were registered with the government, while hundreds of others had been working unregistered for years.
The meeting decided that INGOs which did not get themselves registered with the ministry within given deadline will be told to stop work in the country and visas of their employees will also be cancelled.
The minister commented on this situation and also referred to the horrendous activities of Shive Sena towards Pakistanis, that it wouldn’t be appropriate to Pakistan to tour India.
Earlier, Pakistan suspended the re-admission agreement as most countries have been deporting illegal Pakistani citizens “without verification”, which was violation of the agreement.
The interior minister added that FIA will present a policy to the Interior Ministry within two days.
