Onus on Pak to dismantle terror groups

Sharif also blamed India for imposing “unacceptable preconditions” for potential peace talks over Kashmir to end the 27-year-long conflict between the two nuclear-armed rivals.

Asked if India was preparing any fresh dossier on Pakistan’s involvement in terrorist activities, Swarup said: “We don’t need a dossier; the whole world is aware of Pakistan’s role in promoting terror”.

“In the very first invitation that was extended to the SAARC leaders, it was made clear that India was always ready for a dialogue with anyone, but not if there was any use of terrorism”.

Peace talks between India and Pakistan have been deadlocked since a 2008 terror attack in India’s financial capital, Mumbai, killed over 160 people.

To a question, Zakaria said there is concrete evidence of Indian sponsored terrorism and terrorist financing in Pakistan especially in Balochistan and Karachi.

The diplomat said the Kashmiri people looked towards the global community, especially the members of the UNSC, to deliver on the pledge to hold a free, fair and impartial plebiscite under United Nations auspices, to enable them to decide their future, a democratic and legal right of the Kashmiri people. This they allegedly did out of fear of surgical strikes by India following the Uri attack, not only in the northern sector in Jammu and Kashmir, but also along the western sector in Rajasthan.
