Opening Keynote of Google I/O conference to be broadcasted in virtual reality
YouTube will turn on Google Cardboard mode for the video and you’ll be able to place your iPhone into a headset to watch the video in 360-degrees. In an official post on Google Blog, Product Director Luke Wroblewski mentioned that the new Spaces application “lets people get people together instantly to share around any topic”.

The Google Search app also comes with a search option which allows the users to search for content that was shared on the group earlier. When you’ve found something cool, inviting your friends to a viewing party’s as easy as shooting a link via your preferred messaging app, email client, or social network. If you’re joining us in person at I/O, make sure you install Spaces on Android or iOS before you arrive!
In an unusual display of confidence, Spaces is being rolled out to all Gmail accounts worldwide and made available via browsers, Android and iOS apps, rather than a more measured rollout limited to particular platforms or countries.
Because Spaces can be used for practically anything, from building to-do lists to discussing “Game of Thrones” spoilers, it may as well be the Swiss-army knife of apps – a utility for all occasions and projects. “We wanted to build a better group sharing experience”.
But neither of those features will likely be enough to propel Spaces onto everyone’s smartphones. Google would have to give them some reason to do that, and perhaps that’s what we’ll see at I/O. As well as how you can share links, videos, images and more on Spaces. Not to be out done, Amazon also announced a new video service to compete head-to-head with YouTube while also reporting that it will start selling web advertising surrounding Amazon Prime purchases.
Spaces doesn’t let you exchange documents – at least not yet.

More will be revealed at Google I/O this week, but you shouldn’t have to wait until then to see what Google is getting so excited about.
