“Extra’s” AJ Calloway spoke to Oprah on the red carpet where she not only revealed why she was so passionate about the seven part docu-series, but talked politics and weighed in on the headlines today regarding Lamar Odom.

TV show host-producer Oprah Winfrey says she is a “teacher and a mother” to the pupils of her South African school. “It reminded me of having to deal with drugs in my own family…” “Nobody said that, in this day and age”, she said.

She said: “I don’t know if that is going to happen this season because I am starting my own drama series for OWN, which I am acting in, so it makes it a little inconvenient to be able to go and do someone else’s work when I’m starting on my own”.

“What I know in my maturity is that the real goal of being human beings on the planet, we are all different in search of the same thing”, Winfrey said. She also cleared up rumors she recently had dinner with him, explaining they just ran into each other. “I want to say, ‘Honey child, hush your mouth”, she said. “You don’t know what you’re talking about, ‘” Oprah said while signing autographs for fans in New York City.

“My great hope was to create a series that would be “Planet Spirit” for our planet so that we would be able to see what people of the world believe and how that connects us as one”, Oprah said.
