‘Optimistic’ David Bowie was planning to take ‘experimental new drug’ before death
He performed a duet with British stadium band Queen on “Under Pressure”, wrote the song “Fame” with John Lennon and more recently collaborated with Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails fame on “I’m Afraid of Americans”.

He said: “I have known for about a year”.
Ivo van Hove, director of Bowie’s musical Lazarus, which opened in NY last month, was one of the few people Bowie had informed of his illness, in November 2014, to explain why he would not be able to attend all rehearsals. Producer and longtime friend, Tony Visconti, recently said, “He made Blackstar for us, his parting gift”. While his passing came as a shock to everyone, Brian says that in retrospect, he can see that David was bidding him farewell in his own way before he lost his life.
As you may have heard, David’s 27th studio album dropped January 8 – just two days ahead of his untimely death – andBlackstar is actually set to become his first-ever Billboard No. 1 album in the United States. “But we should all celebrate him for all the fantastic work he’s done”. “I feel a huge gap now”.
“Everyone found out that David Bowie passed away yesterday – incredibly sad news”.
Thousands of fans around the world paid tribute to the “Sound And Vision” creator when news of his death broke, and on Monday evening, hundreds gathered in his birthplace Brixton for an impromptu street party to honour him. It was as amusing as always, and as surreal, looping through word games and allusions and all the usual stuff we did. “That David Bowie wasn’t the guy that’s on stage dancing around and trying to impress you”, Alomar said. “Iman and I are very happy, and we have the most fabulous baby”.
