Metal, plastic and ornaments in trees and wreaths must be removed. He said the recycling is the only responsible thing to do with the trees.
Residents are asked to have their Christmas trees placed where their trash is collected starting on January 4.
City of Pasadena Public Works: Remove all stands, ornaments and lights. Trees will be stored on the grounds temporarily before being taken for recycling.

The trees will be chipped, then mixed with grass cuttings and hedge leaves to create nutrient rich compost.
