For the quarter ended August 31 this year, Oracle revenue for its Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) and Platform-As-A-Service (PaaS) cloud solutions rose by 34 percent.
The new business function solutions, “KPMG Powered HR” and “KPMG Powered Finance”, utilize pre-defined operating models and optimized process flows to eliminate the complexity of aligning with Oracle Cloud Applications and streamline the implementation process by about half the time and at a fraction of the cost.
The aim of Oracle cloud is low pricing, reliability, performance, analytics, standards, compatibility and security. “Here’s the irony of it all”, Ellison told the audience. Two new vertical cloud systems are being added, one for manufacturing and the other for e-commerce.
But it has been a decade since Oracle realized it would have to rewrite virtually all of its applications to run “as-a-Service”, Ellison recalled, acknowledging more work had to be done, including retooling all of Oracle’s middleware and databases.
AWS, much like Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform, is famous for routine price cuts for cloud services throughout the year. Additionally, Oracle Enterprise Data Quality now provides the industry’s first rich multi-tenant global data matching services, providing Oracle Cloud Applications customers with seamless and richly configurable data quality protection.
But during that time frame, Ellison reflected on how the competition has changed too. We had SaaS then. Conny Bjorling, the senior business analyst driving the BI project on Bjork’s team, added, “Now with Data Visualization, we have something that is as visually compelling as it is easy to use. That’s how we got to where we are today”. “We have the largest enterprise-based cloud applications”, he told the gathering.
“We can’t automate everything”.
Ellison said that Oracle release 12.2 of the multitenant database provides enhanced security.
In the Customer Experience Cloud, Oracle announced that customers can go through the cloud to connect with customers. These can be leveraged by employees as they are using the applications and need to figure out for instance how to make a sales call or understand their company’s competitive advantages and compliance rules, Ellison noted. “And Oracle is delivering new features and innovations for them”, said Bob Evans, chief communication officer, Oracle, during a media interaction.
“By 2020, 50 percent of the global workforce will be tech-savvy millennials (those born after 1980)”.
The annual Open World conference of 2015 of Oracle, which is beg conducted in San Francisco from October 25 to October 29, would be bringing together the customers of Oracle, its partners as well as its clients offering 2500 plus education sessions, key-innovations as well as IT Exhibits, the Software giant has announced.

As the first day of Oracle OpenWorld 2015 drew to a close, expectations for the rest of the event and the announcements that might be made were bubbling over on a variety of topics, with a few of the highest excitement centered on possible responses to the Dell-EMC merger, how Oracle might handle AWS’ expanding footprint and the opportunities of converged infrastructure. Nearly 60,000 people from 145 countries attended the OpenWorld conference previous year. The conference will also be webcast.
