ORC Poll: Obama Disapproval Rating Increases On Foreign Policy, Economy
BLITZER: I know you support the president, you support this nuclear deal with Iran but our new poll shows a majority of Americans, 56 percent, want Congress to reject the deal and they’re not very happy with the deal.

A new CNN/ORC poll released Friday found that respondents who disapprove of the job the president is doing outnumber those who do, 51 to 47 percent.
Assessing Obama’s handling of several issues, the President fares worst on his handling of ISIS, the Islamic militant group that controls some areas of Iraq and Syria, with 62% disapproving of how the President is dealing with the group. Only seven percent believed the country to be doing “pretty well.”
On closing the prison at Guantánamo Bay: 53 percent say it should remain open and 44 percent say close it and move prisoners to other facilities. Also, 55 percent said GOP congressional leaders’ policies are taking the country in the wrong direction, up from 49 percent in May.
Congress has until mid-September to review the agreement and would have to pass a resolution to kill the deal, which would need two-thirds majority support in order to override the promised veto from Obama. Only one in ten Republicans backed the deal, while 56 percent of the Democrats were in favor. Seventy-five percent, though, said troops will likely go in. Those numbers were driven by Democrats, with 76 percent approving his approach to climate change, compared to Republicans at 22 percent and independents at 43 percent. Most Democrats (68 percent) and independents (51 percent) are opposed. “His next highest disapproval rating among Democrats is 23 percent on his handling of foreign affairs generally”.

The poll was conducted among 1,001 respondents between August 13 and 16.
