Bobby Jindal deflects when asked if he would agree to the budget or decide to shut down the government.

Jindal, who has only taken part in the early debates, will be joined by former U.S. Sen.

There were no fireworks in the early minutes of the undercard debate as George Pataki, Rick Santorum, Lindsey Graham, and Bobby Jindal hewed to their talking points and did not engage with one another. Leading up to Wednesday’s debate, there had been uncertainty whether Jindal would attend. Marco Rubio will be front and center for the CNBC debate, which will begin after 8 p.m.at the University of Colorado Boulder.

The Republican debates have been ratings gold for cable networks.
