Sushma Swaraj personally took up the matter of a Pakistani Hindu girl Mashal who migrated to India and can not appear for Pre Medical Test (PMT) because she is a refugee.

Mashal prepared to take the all-India entrance exams for a place in one of India’s public medical schools, which only provide seats to nationals, because her family could not afford to send her to a costly private medical college.
Once Swaraj got to know about Mashal, she took to Twitter to reach out to her. She wrote: Mashal – Don’t be disappointed my child.
Two years later, she aced her CBSE results with a score of 91 percent. 2 crore. “I can’t afford it. I also can’t afford to wait for a year for their notification as I have already repeated a year and according to the Indian system, I am lagging behind two years”, she added.
Mashal moved from Pakistan to India with her parents, both of whom are doctors. Mashal, a medical aspirant, who was facing a roadblock for a long time to appear for All India Pre -Medical Test (AIPMT) has finally heard some relieving news from the government. Nirmala said Swaraj assured Mashal’s admission in Karnataka but she would prefer Rajasthan or Gujarat, as it would be closer to home.
And promising her admission in a medical college is none other than the Indian Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj.
An ecstatic Mashal said she was very happy that the External Affairs Minister has taken up the issue. “I am thankful to her”, CNN NEWS 18 quoted her as saying.
Speaking to ANI earlier, Mashal explained that the AIPMT form accepts only two categories – either Person of Indian Origin or NRI.
Ms. Maheshwari appealed to the government officials to intervene in the matter.
