Park’s team in the Korean Baseball Organization, the Nexen Heroes, accepted the $12.85 million bid on Friday, per both Naver Sports and Jae Ho Kim of MK Sports.
Park, 29, has been scouted by several major league clubs including the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, St. Louis Cardinals, Minnesota Twins, Colorado Rockies and New York Yankees.
As soon as Tuesday, the Major League Baseball Commissioner’s Office will notify Park of the winning bidder, which will have the exclusive right to negotiate with Park for 30 days.
The Orioles made a play for South Korean slugger Byung-ho Park, but they were outbid, according to an industry source.
Park hit.343/.436/.714 with 53 home runs in the offense-happy KBO during the 2015 season. The team will have 30 days from Monday to reach an agreement with the 29-year-old.

The success that his former teammate Jung Ho Kang enjoyed in his first year with the Pittsburgh Pirates has likely influenced the Heroes’ posting fee for Park. He hit 52 home runs in 2014, and over the last four seasons in the KBO has averaged 43 home runs and 123 RBI. Kang, who was posted for $5 million last winter, slashed.287/.355/.461 with 15 homers and 58 RBIs in an impressive year with the Bucs.
