Baltimore Orioles got off to a good start to the second half of the Major League Baseball season, beating their division rival, the Tampa Rays, in back-to-back games July 15-16. “And then his last three or four [were good] so it was time for the next step”. Schoop has 10 winning RBIs this season, and since June 1, he is hitting.351 with 21 extra-base hits (14 doubles, seven homers) and 25 RBIs. The 28-year-old suffered through two rough starts to end June, including a no-decision against Tampa Bay when he permitted six runs on 10 hits in five frames. “We’re trying”, Moore said. “It doesn’t really bother me any”.

The Rays, who have lost eight straight, did not have a hit after the fourth inning.
