Mateen’s portion of the documentary, captured by hidden camera, shows embittered Omar Mateen ranting not about the spill itself, but about the workers¬ who were engaged in clean-up efforts.
He chillingly closes his conversation with a sense of foreshadowing, saying: “they want more disaster to happen”.
Mateen’s horrifying massacre is the deadliest mass shooting ever carried out on American soil.
“It has come to our attention that a security guard that we spoke to in our documentary “The Big Fix” was Omar Mateen”.
The company said they knew he was once investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation but never made him undergo psychological re-evaluation.
Earlier officials stated that 11 victims either died at hospitals or on their way to hospitals.
The company says he was an employee starting in 2007. He was also on Facebook, declaring his allegiance to ISIS. He repeated his pledge in a phone call to 911 and to a television producer, according to a local cable news station. He said he received a Facebook friend request from Mateen three days before the shooting. “I did it for the Islamic State”.
Sky News in the United Kingdom was first to report Mateen’s small role in the documentary.
The official wasn’t authorized to discuss the investigation and spoke on condition of anonymity.

President Obama said there was no clear evidence that the shooter was directed externally by a larger terrorist network.
