And the Boston Red Sox keep piling up victories.

Boston Red Sox’s Mookie Betts reacts after hitting a single during the ninth inning of a baseball game against the San Diego Padres Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, in San Diego. Price allowed just a pair of solo homers for his seventh consecutive victory.

“We all have that feeling in the clubhouse, out in the dugout”, Price said. “It’s not work; this is all fun”.

In eight starts with the Orioles, Miley has allowed 32 earned runs on 53 hits in 35 1/3 innings – Monday marking his second outing of under two innings. It’s the longest winning streak in his career for the left-hander, who signed a seven-year, $217 million free agent contract over the offseason.

“He had a good fastball, but command got him”, Baltimore manager Buck Showalter said. “That’s a great example of how important those guys are”. Xander Bogaerts had already begun retreating to first before Ortiz, rounding the bag, signaled for him to run in the other direction. The Orioles claimed Pearce had possession of the ball before dropping it, but the review upheld the original call and Ortiz had a single. Pearce fell asleep after picking up a Ramirez RBI single, as Betts scampered home and not much was hit hard. “It’s a tough place to play”. In the sixth inning of Boston’s contest against the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park, the 40-year-old slugger deposited a 1-0 offering from pitcher Oliver Drake deep into the right field bleachers.

The Red Sox meanwhile are 7-3 in their last 10 games and after taking two out of three against the Blue Jays to grab a two game lead in the division they face another potential playoff suitor here and another divisional foe looking to take Boston’s lead. He has been on the DL since August 12 with a right shoulder rotator cuff strain. The Red Sox look to be the team to beat right now despite their set with the Jays going back and forth in the final two games and if they can sweep away the Orioles here it should give them a nice buffer as the Jays are locked into a competitive series with the Rays. The series continues at Fenway Park when Drew Pomeranz and Boston take on Dylan Bundy and the contending Orioles.
