Oscar Pistorius Appears in Court on Bail Hearing
Last week the supreme court of appeal found him guilty of murder for the killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, overturning a previous conviction for culpable homicide.

“We have an airport that we would not want the accused to get to”, Nel said.
The first was that Pistorius wasn’t completely acquitted on the original charge but had been convicted of culpable homicide.
It’s understood Pistorius has no objection to continuing to abide by the house arrest conditions which includes limited time away from his uncle Arnold’s mansion. He is now on house arrest.
The double-amputee Olympian might also be given a sentencing date during Tuesday’s hearing in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria, said Lusanda Ntuli, a judicial spokeswoman.
The 29-year-old now faces a minimum sentence of 15 years, but Ms Steenkamp said: “I really don’t care how long it is, as long as he pays for what he’s done and takes responsibility for what happened”.
The former track star’s lawyer did not say on what basis he would be appealing the murder conviction at the Constitutional Court, South Africa’s highest court.
“His (earlier) conviction has been overturned, so his sentence from before has been scrapped”, Lusanda Ntuli, spokeswoman for the justice ministry, told AFP on Monday.
Pistorius was originally sentenced to five years in prison.
