Oscars 2016: Lady Gaga stands against sexual assault in performance

Lady Gaga paid an emotional tribute to sexual assault survivors by inviting them to join her onstage during her performance at the Oscars on Sunday night (28Feb16). She has been vocal about meeting with different trauma specialists about sexual abuse before filming.

Lady Gaga and her fiancé Taylor Kinney shared a kiss on the red carpet at the annual Oscar Awards.

“Despite significant progress over the last few years, too many women and men on and off college campuses are still victims of sexual abuse”, Biden said. The Dolby Theatre audience rose for a standing ovation.

Calling himself “the least qualified man here, ” Biden encouraged the audience to help change the culture by intervening in situations where consent has not or can not be given.

“What happened to Kesha has happened to many female artists including myself”, the 29-year-old singer wrote in a comment on one of her photographs with Kesha.

Kesha, formerly Ke$ha, continues to express gratitude for the support she’s received while she’s still embroiled in a nasty legal war with Dr. Luke.

The documentary is about sexual assaults occurring on college campuses.

“My grandmother (in the middle) and my Aunt Sheri (on the right) both called me the day after the Oscars because I never told them I was a survivor”, Gaga wrote alongside the picture. He stood by me all night proud and unashamedly.

In her performance, Lady Gaga was noticeably subdued owing to the fact that “Til It Happens To You” is a song full of raw emotions and communicates a heavy but meaningful message of utmost importance. “THAT’S a real man”. That went to “Writing’s on the Wall”, the theme song from the James Bond movie “Spectre”, co-written and sung by Sam Smith.
