Osweiler sacked 5 times in Raiders 15-12 win over Broncos

The Vikings were already well within range for a game-tying field goal when offensive coordinator Norv Turner called for a pass play to get some more yards.

Osweiler is coming off his first 300-yard passing game, one that was ruined by Khalil Mack’s five sacks, his receivers’ buttery fingers and a leaky line in a 15-12 loss to the Raiders.

Former 49ers tight end Vernon Davis caught seven passes for a season-high 74 yards, but the catch he didn’t make was the biggest play involving him. The Raiders were forced to punt when Broncos linebacker Shaq Barrett broke through to sack Carr for a 12-yard loss on a third-and-short play.

The scoop: Ryan Fitzpatrick passed for three touchdowns in the first half as NY built a 27-0 lead. Thomas and Cincinnati’s A.J. Green are also the only National Football League players to reach the milestone in each of the past four seasons. They’ll of course, need to run the table to get to nine wins, but if they can dig deep, learn from their mistakes – and not repeat them – and play the type of football we’ve seen them play this season, anything is possible.

Mack’s fifth sack helped snuff out Denver’s final drive. Brock Osweiler and the Denver Broncos finally lost a game, and there’s no time to pretend like it’s not important.

Although the Broncos have won three of the four games Osweiler has started, the Denver offense has produced only one touchdown in its last eight quarters.

This all came about an hour after the Raiders pass rusher blew past all Denver blockers for five sacks – all of them during the Raiders’ big second-half comeback – and essentially sent a red alert throughout the NFL. It was huge for Del Rio’s Raiders ans he pumped his fist in the air. “Really good on his part, and the gunners getting down there and getting those balls covered properly”.

First, Condo snapped to Raiders punter Marquette King early in the fourth quarter, then raced down field and recovered the muff by Denver returner Emmanuel Sanders deep in Broncos territory.

“I’m so glad we took them”, Carr, the Raiders’ second-round pick in 2014, told reporters Sunday after Mack led the Raiders to a 15-12 victory over the Broncos. The Raiders missed a chance to add to their lead when kicker Sebastian Janikowski was wide left on a 43-yard field-goal try.

Brandon McManus clanked a 49-yarder that would have tied it off the left upright with 10:22 remaining. As mentioned above, this win wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the Mack Attack, as the Raiders’ second-year star out of Buffalo fueled this group to give up four field goals in the first half, before pitching a shutout in the third and fourth stanzas.

With the evaluation of Peyton Manning’s rehabilitation process ongoing, Head Coach Gary Kubiak declined to finalize a starting quarterback for next Sunday’s game at Pittsburgh at his press conference Monday. “You’re playing against a great team – great defense, great offense”.

Oakland’s lack of production in the first 30 minutes was the lowest figure by any team in the first half since November 1, 1992, when the Chargers held the Colts to minus-5 yards. “Took my eyes off the ball and wasn’t able to pull it in”.

Let’s get the obvious, elephant-in-the-room stuff out of the way first because it’s, well, obvious, elephant-the-room stuff: The 2015 Denver Broncos have a mish-mash, below-average, under-talented offensive line. “Today, Khalil kind of reminded me of that”. Safety Darian Stewart suffered a hamstring injury, but is considered “day-to-day”.
