Our Picks For The 2017 College Football Playoff

Florida State will win the ACC and earn the coveted top seed in the College Football Playoff. Considering that OSU is 31-1 in Big Ten regular season games under Urban Meyer and has won 11 of the last 12 meetings against MI, I like their chances to win the East. Before the season’s first full weekend, we will go with our instincts until we are convinced otherwise.

It would need a lot of help from rivals in the American Athletic Conference to create ranked matchups for strength of schedule that might come close to a “power five” schedule. MI is likely to make a push for the Big10 title, but we think the Buckeyes are too good to miss the Playoff in back to back years. Quarterback Baker Mayfield and running back Samaje Perine should pile on the points this year.

It’s entirely possible that those four teams will be the four best teams in the country.

This game will be a high scoring, high flying matchup. The Cougars have a chance to prove themselves in the conference, with Oklahoma early and Louisville late. Some vote of confidence. Florida State will start redshirt freshman Deondre Francois in place of the injured Sean Maguire, but other than that, have few weaknesses. The Big12 is wide open and teams like TCU and Oklahoma State will compete for that conference title as well.

We’ll be ignoring you and your preseason football completely. UCLA is the better team but it is hard to win on the road at Kyle Field. I guess you look at the top teams and then look at their schedules.

The ACC and prohibitive favorite Clemson should be electric in the passing game this year. They may very well lose in week one to Ole Miss but then it’s a long way until the end of the season. The Bruins will have to figure out quick who will step up on offense. They found themselves in the news for the wrong reasons again this offseason, but Kevin Sumlin still finds ways to put together a good team. Yes that Trevor Knight who transferred from Oklahoma, and is now at TAMU.

UCLA will have an opportunity to get a key win against a SEC team when they face the Aggies in College Station. Texas A&M has a thing for upsets, and are fully capable of pulling off an upset with the returning starters they have, and Garrett coming off the edge.

All eyes are Clemson and quarterback DeShaun Watson as the 2016 season gets ready to start.

I’m a Pacific Northwest guy who loves his Pacific Northwest sports. We can’t predict the future, but if we had to guess how this one was going to play out, we have just two words for you: Roll Tide. Unfortunately, one of the two teams will have a blemish on their record right off the bat. The first four teams to play in the CFP were the Florida State Seminoles, Oregon Ducks, Ohio State Buckeyes and Alabama. Expect Oklahoma to make a return trip to the playoff this year.

Georgia was one of the most efficient running teams in all of football a year ago.

The MACtion goes on, even without UMass in the fold. UNC on the other hand was very bad at stopping the run giving up nearly 250 yards a game. SC visits Vanderbilt at 7 p.m.in a Southeastern Conference opener televised Thursday on ESPN. A win over Georgia could set them up for a big season. The Tigers probably would have had their fifth 10-win season in six years had their opener against McNeese State not been canceled.

College football is finally back! More than 7.7 million fans attended SEC games, averaging 78,630 per home game. Both of the Nkemdiche brothers are gone as well on defense.

After nine seasons in Tuscaloosa, Kirby Smart prepares to take the reins for the first time in his career, as the new head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs.

No. 1 Alabama vs. He may not have to though, because as mentioned before Dalvin Cook is the backfield, and all you have to do is hand him the ball, and let him carry you to the promised land. Watson might be the most complete QB since Andrew Luck to play football in the college game. Big 12 favorite Oklahoma has two losable non-conference games in Houston and Ohio State before even getting into its chances of sweeping its league games.
