‘Outlander’ Season 2, Episode 12 Spoilers: Claire Kills Jamie’s Uncle?

Though cast in 2015, Starz and the Outlander team have kept a tight lid on details surrounding Brianna and Roger’s debut.

Claire’s (Caitriona Balfe) daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton, not pictured) will be introduced in the “Outlander” Season 2 finale, but she’ll be different from the book version.

With only two episode remaining, Entertainment Weekly has offered a first look at Brianna Randall (Sophie Skelton) and Roger Wakefield (Richard Rankin). The finale will show them with Claire in 1968. “It’s a scary thought because of things like the fact that Brianna’s from Boston, but we decided not to go with a Boston accent. We just assumed that, given how she was raised in a private Catholic school in the ’60s, she sort of had any Boston drummed out of her and she’d be a standard American”, Skelton told EW.

This let us know how important it is for Claire and Jamie to make the right decision with Clan MacKenzie – do they hope that Culloden goes differently via pulling in bigger numbers, or spare dozens of lives by keeping Clan MacKenzie out of the Rising entirely? – but it also served as a heartrending goodbye to the Highland men we’ve grown to love over the past two seasons. Brianna and Roger are central figures in the source material, making the Outlander season 2 finale a significant first impression and introduction to their characters.

Apparently “Hail Mary” will see the return of Jamie’s uncle Colum, and Claire will be the one responsible for ending his life. Jamie may put in all his efforts to ensure that they do not fight at the Culloden Moore.

At the time of our interview, Menzies wasn’t sure that take would even make it into the final cut. It’s because Alex is Randall’s closest tie to his softer side that Black Jack is so “unnerved by the idea of losing his brother”. With grievances set aside, Colum will beg Claire Randall to end his unbearable pain until Jamie Fraser’s wife capitulates and facilitates a mercy kill in “Outlander” Season 2 Episode 12.
