That fits with an overall finding that 33 percent of Trump supporters and about as many Clinton supporters say they’re voting at least partially in opposition to the other candidate. Each state sample consisted of 400 registered Hispanics with a margin of error of +/-4.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level. As Trump supporters at a packed rally in Florida shouted “Hang him!” the Republican presidential candidate mocked the fact that Ahmad Khan Rahami, a 28-year-old USA citizen originally from Afghanistan, would receive quality medical care and legal representation.
The latest Siena poll released Tuesday gives Clinton a lead of 51% to 30% statewide, essentially unchanged from a Siena poll a month ago.
Should he run for re-election in 2018, 49 percent of the responders said they would vote for someone else.
Before the event, Donald Trump sent a Tweet upon hearing that Mrs. Clinton had cancelled her fundraiser.
Forty-one percent of voters says Trump is honest and straightforward, compared with 31% who say that about Clinton.
Clinton still is viewed negatively by a majority of voters.
Trump started August in a big polling hole against Clinton and clawed back to almost a dead heat, even spending much less than Clinton. Hofstra’s president, Stuart Rabinowitz, said at the time, “We greatly appreciate the faith shown in us by the Commission on Presidential Debates”.
