The sheriff’s drug task force is investigating the cause of the multiple overdoses and so far there have been no arrests, Zehner said.
There were no deaths and no one lost consciousness after the incident at the EST Fest in Richland County, NBC affiliate WCMH in Columbus reported. He says THC usually gives people a sense of euphoria.
Major Joe Masi of the Richland County Sheriff’s Department told the Mansfield News Journal someone began tossing out bags of the colourful lollies on Saturday.
The packages were marked “prescribed medibles”, according to reports, and were laced with high levels of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the same drug found in marijuana. They only felt exhausted, among other unusual symptoms.
All of those who were sickened were treated with an overdose antidote naloxone at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital, and all are expected to be fine, WXYZ/WTTE reported. The arrivals had ended by early evening.
“I feel like it’s under control at this point”, she said.
