Machado hit a two-run homer in the first and a three-run shot in the second off James Shields, who allowed four homers while getting four outs. However, Machado is the first player in Orioles’ history to hit a home run in three consecutive innings.

With the White Sox losing their series against the Orioles, there were some takeaways from the series for the team. Dan Straily (7-6) gave up two earned runs and three hits in six innings, walking none and striking out four.

Now batting.309 with 25 home runs, 67 RBI and a.368 on-base percentage through 105 appearances this season, the veteran infielder has registered the eighth multi-homer game of his career as well on Sunday.

UP NEXT: Dylan Bundy (4-3, 3.05) faces James Shields (3-6, 5.64) in the final game of the series at 2:10 p.m. on Sunday.

White Sox starter Carlos Rodon, worked out of a first-inning jam with three strikeouts while hitting 100 miles per hour on the radar gun. He also hit two batters, walked two and struck out one.In his previous shortest outing, he gave up eight runs in 1 2/3 innings June 18 against Cleveland. Shields then hit a batter and walked another before Machado deposited a cut-fastball into the left-field bullpen for a three-run homer. Machado hit into a double-play in his fourth at-bat of the game. So, I’m hoping they felt like they had a replay that was definitive enough that he touched it in fair territory because we don’t have one. “I was trying real hard”. I was leaving the ball over the plate, and they were capitalizing on it.

“It’s hard when you’re in the dugout for 20 minutes or so and these guys are hitting homers”, Bundy said, smiling.

Rodon allowed five hits, walked two and struck out seven in six innings, extending his winless streak to nine starts. “I don’t know if it was the shadows or what, but he has really good stuff”.

“(The Orioles are) a good hitting ballclub, but on any given day, I feel like I can beat them”, Shields said.

“I was pretty much bad all around”, said Shields, who had been 3-4 with a 2.94 ERA in eight starts since his rocky beginning with the Sox. “I’ll take that any day”. Anderson left Thursday’s game when he was hit by a pitch.

Pearce exits early: On the Frazier sacrifice fly, right fielder Steve Pearce appeared to suffer an arm injury.

NO RBI FOR JOSEPH: Caleb Joseph was 1-for-3, but still has no RBIs this season.
