The beta phase for Overwatch has two main purposes.

Only on weekends will Blizzard “open the floodgates” and let more people in to stress test the game’s servers and overall performance.

The weekend beta test on the other hand will have room for plenty of testers to try out. You can register for the beta on the Play Overwatch website. There should be more news about Overwatch at the Conference, which takes place in Anaheim, California. According to Jeff Kaplan, the game’s director, these features are part of Blizzard’s plan of turning “Overwatch” into an eSport type of game. In a time of global crisis, an worldwide task force of soldiers, scientists, adventurers, and oddities known as Overwatch had come together to restore peace to a war-torn world.
