Overwatch has already become one of our most anticipated games of 2016 after hands-on time with the closed beta, though we’ve always been awaiting the announcement of a release date from Blizzard.

A Reddit user recently spotted an advertisement for Overwatch on IGN before it was pulled and it indicated that the multiplayer shooter would be releasing on May 24th.

Overwatch’s release date was leaked via an advertisement on IGN.

At the moment, the portal has removed all promotional content related to the game of Blizzard, it is possible that the campaign has been launched ahead of schedule, probably by mistake.

Overwatch features squad-based combat with two opposing teams of six players each. Blizzard has yet to comment about the development. “Overwatch” is not free-to-play, much like Blizzard’s other blockbuster franchises “Starcraft” and “Diablo”, but won’t require monthly payments like “World of Warcraft”. To access the former, though, you’ll need to pre-order the game. Also, cross-platform play between PC and consoles will not be available due to advantages and disadvantages players might encounter.
