According to investigators, family members said Hans had left his home around 8:30 Sunday night to go feed the animals and when he did not return they began looking for him, soon finding him deceased.
A family statement said the incident was a shock because Boxler understood the nature of his animals and followed a daily routine.
The wild animal park’s Facebook page features photographs of exotic animals such as camels, llamas and zebras.
The owner of an animal safari in Western New York is dead after he was gored to death by an animal, 13WHAM reports.
The animal was never completely loose from the facility, only from its pen, which is surrounded by a secondary retention fence, authorities said. “Clearly it was something out of the ordinary that caused the animal’s reaction”.
“Hans’ lifelong passion was to farm and work with animals”.
81, of Varysburg, was trampled by a Nilgai Antelope and succumbed to the injuries as a result, Sheriff’s officials said this afternoon.
Kevin Kretschmer, owner and president of Adventure Calls Outfitters in Castile, said Hidden Valley Animal Adventure was Boxler’s brainchild and his passion. He enjoyed visiting with guests, many of whom traveled from great distances.
They also noted Boxler’s success in dairy farming, saying he was well-respected throughout the community.
