Oxygen And Family Are Required In Preview Of Showtime’s Roadies

This summer he’s going back to the well again for a new series on Showtime named ROADIES, embracing his rock and roll roots, to tell the stories of those who make it all happen for those larger-than-life talents that take the stage and are beloved by millions across the world. This is the film director’s first TV series, and it follows the lives of a road crew for a band called the Staton-House Band. J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens), Bryan Burk (Lost) and Len Goldstein (Hart of Dixie) also serve as executive producers.

The network on Friday announced that the music-infused project from Oscar-winning writer Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous) will premiere on Sunday, June 26 at 10 pm. From there, the preview offers up glimpses of life on the road for these unsung heroes, with the series focusing in on roadies played by Imogen Poots, Carlo Gugino and Luke Wilson. It feature the Eddie Vedder’s “Hard Sun”, an Indio cover he recorded for the “Into The Wild” soundtrack. Luis Guzman (Boogie Nights), Jacqueline Byers (The Strain), Finesse Mitchell (Saturday Night Live), Branscombe Richmond (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Tanc Sade (Matador, Gilmore Girls)guest star. Crowe writes, directs and executive produces.

“Roadies” is produced by Bad Robot Productions, Vinyl Films and Dooley & Company Productions, in association with Warner Bros. Pearl Jam’s manager Kelly Curtis is a producer and the show’s music supervisor.
