Ozil confident Arsenal can beat Liverpool

Klopp has spoken of his surprise at how intense English football is after taking charge at Anfield in October and he goes head-to-head with the league’s longest-serving manager on Wednesday.

Arsenal beat Manchester United and City earlier this season and Ozil has little doubt they can continue their form against the division’s biggest clubs when they face the Reds. That’s really a brilliant job he’s done – 19-and-a-half years.

Ultimately, I personally don’t think it makes any difference who plays in defence; Arsenal have superb attacking players, and if given time and space, they’re capable of doing some serious damage.

“It’s rare to do this over such a long period”. He’s a football maniac, in the best [sense of the word]. It’s a cool thing and I am looking forward to it.

Klopp, who enjoyed great success with Borussia Dortmund in Germany, took over at Liverpool earlier this season and has since seen his squad decimated by injuries.

Skipper Jordan Henderson (foot), James Milner (calf) and Jordon Ibe were all absent when Klopp named a much-changed team in the FA Cup third-round tie at Exeter on Friday.

When asked if there was any substance to the rumours, Klopp said: “I could say the truth and say ‘no'”.

“The players have their experiences against Arsenal, I have my experience against Arsenal, but I think we should find an actual, present plan for this game”.

“My respect for Arsene Wenger grows day by day. That’s what we have to accept in this situation”.

“It’s a time when we have to make decisions about all the players, not only our own players [here] but on loan in the case of Danny, and that’s what we did”.

“The situation now is better than it was two or three days ago”, Klopp explained.

“They have a new manager who has come in and improved their team”.
