Ozil plays down Arsenal contract talk
Mesut Ozil is the key to Arsenal’s title push, according to club and global team-mate Per Mertesacker.

“The biggest change started when I was injured past year and I changed my diet and started to look at the small details in my life”, he told German magazine Kicker in quotes run by The Guardian.
Mesut Ozil says he isn’t in a rush to sign a new contract at Arsenal but the midfielder is “very happy” in London.
Under both of the proposed new agreements, however, Arsenal are willing to bump both players’ pay up to £150,000-a-week, and their contracts – which both expire in 2018 – would be extended long term. There are no talks at the moment.
The Germany worldwide has amassed a total of 15 assists in the Premier League this season – more than double than the next best of Gerard Deulofeu and Riyad Mahrez (7).
Not to mention the form Laurent Koscielny is in at the current moment, Per OpTaJoe Arsenal Boast one of the meaniest and tightest defences in the current league season.
And he even appeared to put another Arsenal villain in the shade after seemingly blanking Samir Nasri in the aftermath of the Gunners’ 2-1 win over Manchester City.

And Mertesacker believes Arsenal’s hopes of winning the league for the first time since 2003-04 depends a lot on Ozil.
