Pacers fall to Raptors 102-99 in Game 5

The X factor in the series is the inconsistency of Raptors All-Star guard DeMar DeRozan who was again almost a no-show in the Game 4 loss.

DeRozan’s big game, and an even bigger Raptors comeback, put Toronto on the brink of a second-round berth. “It’s all about patience, you can’t get frustrated”. You get upset with your kids sometimes, you argue with your kids, you go back and forth, but at the end of the day, they’re your guys.

Offense has been a struggle for both the Toronto Raptors and the Indiana Pacers.

However, the Raptors recovered from a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter before holding on.

On how tough it was to keep Paul George out at the start of the fourth after scoring 37 points through three quarters…

Atlanta leads the best-of-seven series 3-2. “Once again, we failed to live up to that moment”. They took a 13-point lead into the final frame but then scored just nine points the rest of the way.

Rapper and Toronto Raptors ambassador Drake mocked Indiana Pacers star Paul George on Instagram for deciding to pass the ball on the final shot of Game 5 Tuesday.

Frustration for the Pacers kept mounting up into the fourth quarter, and a run ignited by the bench and capped off by a jam from rookie Norman Powell leveled out the playing field at 92 with 6:30 remaining.

Biyombo said: “We stuck together, we played defence like a team, and I am glad we got the win. I kind of lost it going up overthinking what I wanted to do, but I was able to finish the play”. DeRozan finished with 34 points on 10-22 shooting. A 3-pointer by Rodney Stuckey had IN back into the lead with 6:25 left.

Solomon Hill’s game-tying shot was ruled out after a video review.

“(George) looked pretty gassed at the end of the third”, Vogel said. “I think, like I told them after the game, there’s no need to hang your head”. “They had a tough stretch there”. It seems like only a matter of time before Toronto advances to the Conference semifinals. The pair went 1 for 10 from 3-point range and 8 for 15 at the free-throw line.

IN had the ball under Toronto’s basket with 2.7 seconds left. DeMar DeRozan broke the 92-all tie with a three-point shot from the left wing, and ignited a crowd that was ready to call it a game in the first half. He put tears on Paul George on Instagram immediately after the Raptors stunned the Pacers. “He stumbled a little bit, had two guys on him”. They finished the game going 36-of-62 as they coasted to a blowout win over the Celtics.

Among those impressed by Toronto’s comeback was Hall of Famer Magic Johnson, who sent out multiple tweets congratulating the Raptors on their “miraculous” victory.

The ensuing replay review lasted one minute but felt like an eternity.

“This is what you play for”, Casey said.

Drake deleted his post after it began to gain traction which is a shame because it’s an unbelievable use of Photoshop.

George bemoaned the Pacers’ failure to hang on for what would have been a potentially pivotal road victory.

IN still had an opportunity to tie the game with less than three seconds remaining. Raptors F Patrick Patterson moved off the bench and into the starting lineup, replacing Luis Scola. They scored all of two points in ten minutes or so and let the Raptors get whatever they wanted, which was in stark contrast to a disjointed first three quarters.
