Pacers to trade Damjan Rudez to Minnesota for Chase Budinger
The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to trade forward Chase Budinger to the Indiana Pacers, according to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Yahoo Sports notes Budinger likely lost out on playing time because of Minnesota’s depth at small forward. According to the AP’s Jon Krawczynski, Budinger, 27, wanted to play on a more veteran team and the Timberwolves granted his wish by trading him to Indiana.
Chase Budinger, starting in place of the injured Kevin Martin, scored 15 points, as Minnesota played the Houston Rockets at Target Center in Minneapolis on Monday, February 10, 2014.
Budinger averaged 6.8 points and three rebounds in 19.2 minutes for the Timberwolves last season, and showed promise early in his career. Rudez is an intelligent player but limited athletically at the defensive end.

He’s also 29 years old, so there isn’t much projection left. Given Taylor’s comment and the Wolves’ current roster, it wouldn’t be a shock to either see Rudez as a healthy scratch often next season or potentially even moved later in the off-season.
