Pacific not China-US wrestling ring

Chinese President Xi Jinping said here Friday that China and the United States have no choice but to seek win-win cooperation. However, the heads of the two states have seemingly concluded that they stand to gain more by working together than not.

Afghanistan- The United States and China decided to maintain communication and cooperation with one another on Afghanistan to support peaceful reconstruction and economic development in Afghanistan, support an “Afghan led, Afghan owned” reconciliation process, and promote trilateral dialogue among the United States, China, and Afghanistan.

In this Era of Globalization, if China and the United States cooperate, the world will benefit, but if China and the United States confront each other, the world will suffer. We have agreed to maintain constructive communication on relevant issues.

2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

A high-level roundtable on South-South cooperation, co-hosted by China and the United Nations, will be held on Saturday at the UN headquarters on the sideline of the UN Sustainable Development Summit, which is going to adopt a post-2015 sustainable development agenda. China has been taking a leading role in promoting South-South cooperation, said Acharya, who is Nepalese, was also appointed to United Nations high representative for the least developed countries, landlocked developing countries and small island developing states in 2012. Food Security- The United States and China made a decision to enhance cooperation on global food security.

China and Russia’s decision to coordinate on maritime military matters proves that the two countries are willing to set aside their political differences and work together. Separately, the two sides intend to explore opportunities to cooperate on climate smart agriculture to produce more and better food for growing populations, while building the resilience of smallholder farmers.

The Asia-Pacific region is fast-emerging as the focal point of most discussions on modern geopolitical relations and security concerns.

In Y 2015 China has become the 2nd-largest economy of the world, with an economic aggregate at about 60% of that of the United States. The United States and China plan to participate constructively in the May 2016 World Humanitarian Summit. In Y 2014, China contributed 27.8% to global economic growth, while the United States contributed 15.3%, according to the worldwide Monetary Fund (IMF). This included completing new annexes for air-to-air safety and crisis communications to the Memoranda of Understanding on Confidence Building Measures originally signed previous year. Russia’s continued action in Ukraine and the annexation of Crimea in 2014 have drastically altered the Eurasian security landscape and resulted in severe backlash from the global community while China’s claims in the South China Sea and the Tibet issue continue to cause security imbalances in Asia. Cybersecurity- The United States and China agree that timely responses should be provided to requests for information and assistance concerning malicious cyber activities.

Both Russian Federation and China are known for their expansionist ambitions and both countries have claimed areas outside of their internationally acknowledged territories in recent times. Both sides also agree to provide updates on the status and results of those investigation to the other side, as appropriate.

Xi’s words also demonstrated China’s resolve to protect internet security. From military parades to surprising decisions such as Beijing’s deployment of five of its ships to the Bering Sea to coincide with President Obama’s visit to Alaska, both Russian Federation and China have taken to flexing their military muscles to warn potential challengers.
