Packers CB Sam Shields a no-go for Vikings clash
“It’s a lovely place”, Minnesota coach

Sam Bradford arrived in Minnesota on Saturday, Sept3.
But the Vikings may have begun to reverse that dominance by closing out the 2015 regular season with a rare victory over Green Bay, overcoming a 291-yard performance by Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers – and a mere 67 yards on the ground from their own star running back Adrian Peterson, to defend their home field by a 20-13 score. He was dogged by it again during training camp, and now there’s this latest setback. The Vikings won, but Hill had little to do with the success.
Neither player scored in week one, but both should figure in heavily to the offensive game plan this week, Peterson especially.
The Vikings acquired Bradford almost two weeks ago in a trade with Philadelphia for two premium draft picks, including their first-round selection in 2017, but Hill started the opener at Tennessee.
Bradford has suffered through an injury-plagued National Football League career, but the former No. 1 overall pick has the arm strength to lead this team to the postseason. “I think he’s getting more comfortable”, offensive coordinator Norv Turner said Thursday. The question is, could Bradford operate that scheme at a winning level, considering that Sunday will mark his 14th day with the team?
“It kind of felt like a nightclub in there and everybody kind of cheering, ” linebacker Anthony Barr said of the lights dimming against the Rams. There’s quite a few things. “There’s so many things for someone that hasn’t been in our offensive system, it’s very hard”.
While Peterson is the top priority for the defense, the Packers can’t neglect Minnesota’s capable passing attack, whether it’s triggered by journeyman Shaun Hill or recently acquired Sam Bradford. “You tilt toward certain schemes with one quarterback, as opposed to another”. But the Vikings have the makings of one of the NFL’s best defenses with several potential Pro Bowlers, and the Packers’ offense with Jordy Nelson still just back from a year layoff looks like it has a ways to go to find itself. “Every time we play the Vikings, that’s the focal point of our defense”.
Aaron Rodgers has played almost flawless football against the Vikings in his career. And if Bradford has been told who will start against the Packers, he hasn’t shared it with his parents, who attended Minnesota’s 25-16 win last Sunday at Tennessee in the regular-season opener.
That’s right. Favre not only made 32 starts against the Vikings from 1992 through 2007, but he also made the fifth most starts against the Packers of any Minnesota quarterback since 1992. “I can see how it could be discouraging to the visiting team”.
“He doesn’t lack confidence or athletic ability. That’s something that as a young guy, I’m not taking for granted”.
“The stadium is fantastic”, Peterson said.

The Green Bay Packers barely came away with a victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but they won’t be able to catch a break this week. He said, “In my mind, I envision those lights going off a lot for us this week”.
