Packers get huge win but their weaknesses have been exposed
Aaron Rodgers threw two touchdown passes without a turnover, Datone Jones had two of Green Bay’s six sacks and Eddie Lacy contributed a season-high 100 yards in a 30-13 victory over Minnesota on Sunday that stopped a three-game losing streak. Adrian Peterson couldn’t get going either, and his 45 yards on 13 carries did little to affect the outcome.

“They caught me slipping on that one, and it really hurt us”, Peterson said. The schemes are there, the players have bought in, but at the end of the day they are so severely lacking at many critical positions on the roster and just don’t have the ability to execute consistently week in and week out.
The Vikings got within six when Peterson caps off a brilliant drive by Bridgewater, Peterson taking it the final six yards, and it was 19-13, that is, until Rodgers has answer. Packers C Corey Linsley left the game in the first quarter with an ankle injury and did not return….
“We had to bounce back”, Packers linebacker Clay Matthews said. I’d say that this was a huge momentum boost for the Packers in the Rodgers/McCarthy era. And Eddie Lacy was bouncing around out there like a bowling ball at times and kept his legs moving. Of course, the last time the Vikings were 7-3 or better in 2009 (they were 9-1 at this point) they went 2-3 in December. Guys missed blocks and their defensive front did a good job.
Zimmer also said he’s concerned about how many times Bridgewater took a hit – but added he’s got a lot of concerns right now.
“But the reality is, when you get up in the morning, it’s all about Chicago”. “That’s a part of our issue there”. The Packers didn’t have a sack in their last three games, all losses in which they mostly played from behind. Or early in the fourth quarter, when Rodgers scrambled away from pressure, and scrambled away from pressure, and scrambled further away from pressure, and found Jones in the end zone for a 27-yard TD. As predicted, they would try and get him involved in this one. “The biggest thing we have to do is just continue to win games and as long as we do that I think everything else will take care of itself”.
The 2015 Packers took a big step toward saving their season Sunday. Entering Sunday, the Vikings were the least penalized team in the league.
Wide receiver James Jones, held without a catch last week in a loss to the Detroit Lions, caught five balls for 106 yards and a pretty, toe-dragging touchdown along the left sideline, which essentially put the game on ice. That includes the Packers, who on Sunday had an 18-yard punt and yielded a 47-yard touchdown pass and were outgained by the Vikings … and still managed to win, and not by a small margin, but by a deceivingly large one.
Zimmer didn’t want to talk about the receiver’s problems on Monday. I still believe in this football team and I still believe in everything about us. While he is not the only one to blame for those things, Cobb needs to get on the same page with Rodgers as passing windows get tighter.
Meanwhile, Lacy also showed a glimpse of his former notable self. He returned later in the game….
“Rodgers made a lot of plays with his feet and out of the pocket as he does”, Greenway said. “He was here [Monday] morning”. Bradford was back on the practice field for a light workout Tuesday. Before the match against the Minnesota Vikings, the running back disclosed that he has been making progress regarding improving his execution of plays in the field.

“It definitely stinks not being out on the field and not helping the team, but I still play for the Minnesota Vikings and still a member of this team, and as a member of this team you have a responsibility to the community and my work with the children’s hospital is something that is important to me”, Sullivan said.
