Packers hold off Jaguars in opener

It’s not yet a well-oiled machine – after all, it was the first time quarterback Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson played a game together in almost 13 months – but in a 27-23 road win over the Jaguars, it was an acceptable start to a season chock-full of expectations.

“I think most importantly it’s good for our offense”, Thomas said. He figures it’s time to start beating the Packers a lot more. “It’s tough to win on the road”. We went out there and battled through some heat.

The NFL Week 1 match-up between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Green Bay Packers will air live from EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Florida.

The idea is still the same – to point out and explain some of the little, or not so obvious, things from the previous week’s game that factored into the outcome. While I don’t entirely disagree with this sentiment, it greatly misses the point of being a sports fan.

Bortles mixed passes to tight end Marcedes Lewis, running back T.J. Yeldon, and receivers Allen Robinson and Rashad Greene on his team’s final possession.

That catch was just one of three for Adams who finished with 50 yards. I don’t really play the what-if game, but, yeah, we’d be sitting here 0-1 and it would (stink), especially having played a full 60 minutes. “It’s what we have to do”. They will need to play better offense than they did on Sunday, however, if they want a chance. It happens each and every year. How much does he feel me?

The loss is Jacksonville’s fifth straight in openers and drops the team to 1-11 in September games under coach Gus Bradley. Aaron Rodgers played well, the defense did its’ job, and K Mason Crosby didn’t miss. They played phenomenally well for most of the game, too, with Rodgers making some throws that no one else in the league can.

Nelson may not have put up big numbers, finishing the day with just six receptions for 32 yards, including this six-yard touchdown pass, but his consistency kept the Packers’ offense afloat on several plays.

The rookie cornerback did end up on the highlight reel for Rodgers on Sunday, although it wasn’t for giving up a touchdown in coverage. “He had a great second and third reaction on the TD catch”.

Allen Robinson hauled in a 22-yard strike at the Green Bay 23, but fumbled when he was hit. He limped off the field bu was able to return later in the game.

Green Bay’s high-flying passing game was unexpectedly grounded for most of the 2015 season after the Packers lost star receiver Jordy Nelson to a knee injury in the preseason. After a failed attempt by Lacey to run it in, Rogers elected to take care of things himself, getting a 6-yard rushing touchdown on the second down.

Nothing ever seems to go right for the Jaguars, and the bad luck started even before kickoff, with running back Chris Ivory sent to hospital with what the club termed a “general medical issue”.
