Packers’ Matthews, Burnett ruled out of home opener against Lions
Detroit (1-1) is looking to rebound from a 16-15 loss to Tennessee in the Lions’ home opener on Marcus Mariota’s 9-yard touchdown pass late to Andre Johnson.

Much of the blame has been placed on the mercurial Davante Adams, who had an very bad 2015 and played quite poorly against Minnesota.
Green Bay is 1-1, and some are now questioning whether quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ best days are behind him.
Fortunately for the Packers, Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the league in extending plays outside the pocket. Burnett missed five games past year with a calf injury and a good portion of training camp with a back injury. First, that I bleed Honolulu blue and support the Detroit Lions, no matter what. That’s an easy six on third down. Aaron Rodgers at home is always a safe bet and the Packers not only have revenge against Detroit in this occurrence, but it’s the home opener and Lambeau should be fired up.
Matthews, who pulled himself out of last week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings in the final minutes, has both hamstring and left ankle injuries. There is certainly a lot of ancillary story lines headed into this week’s game at Green Bay for both the Lions and Packers.
Butler didn’t just play in the game, but found himself in it at its most critical juncture because of injuries.
“So, we’ve got to get back to finding ways to throw it on time and that’s only done when we’re at the proper break point at the right time and then you can deliver an accurate ball on time”. In the receiving end, Jordy Nelson posted 73 yards and a touchdown in five receptions while Randall Cobb added 42 yards in five catches.
Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy is doubtful with a quadriceps injury, leaving the team with only a little hope he will play today. Tailback Ameer Abdullah has already been placed on injured reserve after undergoing foot surgery, which means Theo Riddick will be the lead back for the first time in his career. Richard Rodgers drifted into the end zone, uncovered, as the former MVP uncorked a rocket that found his tight end’s hands and delivered a 27-23 road win in Motor City.

In addition, the Lions listed another key defensive player, linebacker Antwione Williams, as doubtful with a hamstring injury.
