Packers release veteran guard Josh Sitton
First reported by ESPN, the Packers will release the three-time Pro Bowler if they can not find a trade partner.

The Packers drafted Sitton in the fourth round of the 2008 National Football League draft out of the University of Central Florida.
Ted Thompson released a statement Saturday saying “We want to thank Josh for his contributions during his time in Green Bay”. He was named second-team All-Pro by The Associated Press in each of the last three seasons. The 30-year-old had started 110 out of the 112 regular season games that the Packers had played since becoming a full-time starter on the offensive line in 2009.
Sitton won’t be protecting Aaron Rodgers this year. “We wish Josh and his wife, Kristen, all the best in the future”.
Sitton was scheduled to make $5.9 million in the final year of his contract, which might have caused some teams to pass on trading for the three-time Pro Bowler.
The Packers released Sitton on Saturday, the team announced. They re-signed Will Beatty, their former starting left tackle, but he has not played in 20 months after missing the 2015 season following surgeries to fix a torn pectoral and torn rotator cuff. He was due to count $6.85 million against the cap this year.

The news came before the NFL’s deadline to cut rosters to 53 players.
