Packers trade first-round pick
Then, two picks later, the Texans sent the Browns their 2018 first-round pick to move up from No. 25 to No. 12 to take Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Perhaps if King had been on the field in Atlanta back on January 22, the Packers might have had a glimmer of hope against Julio Jones. Many fans were excited to see who the team would select with their first round pick in the NFL Draft, which held the first of its three days last night. I was just watching it and waiting patiently. King said before pausing to catch himself. “That was a. I mean, that was interesting one”. “Anything I can do to help is what I’m here to do”.
“I watched that [game]”, King said choosing his words carefully in a conference call with reporters at Lambeau Field. “I’m so happy my name got called and to go to such a great organization”.
The Packers are banking on it.
Green Bay has taken two defensive backs in the draft so far, and Jones definitely has an opportunity to earn early playing time.
“You never know what they could’ve did”. They even went out and signed Davon House, a cornerback they once let walk in free agency.
One of the benefits of going to the Packers is the knowledge that Jones will be on a team that has Aaron Rodgers and believes that it should be a playoff team every year. “Taller and maybe a little faster”. And warm bodies, for that matter.
His draft stock improved dramatically after the National Football League scouting combine, where King posted the top 60-yard shuttle, 20-yard shuttle and 3-cone drill time among cornerbacks. He ran a 4.43 forty-yard dash leading up to the draft and had a 39.5-inch vertical jump. He’s also played outside.
“The (draft) board held up pretty strong, so, yeah, we felt pretty good about it”, Thompson said.
“I think it’s very good strategy-wise”, Thompson added in regards to having the pick No. 33.
“He was the guy that we really like”, said Eliot Wolf, the team’s director of football operations.
The Packers are getting faster in the defensive backfield.
Too many issues for me, but there are likely teams that covet him – teams are likely calling Ted to trade up for him. He started out at Washington as a safety before making the switch to corner.
In no particular order, the Packers need a No. 1 cornerback, pass-rushing outside linebacker, power running back and a right guard.
King is a versatile defensive back who played multiple positions while at Washington. “The way these guys are wired, the gifts they have, we have high expectations”.
Jordan Willis. – I was told Packers scouts were practically living in his dorm room, they were there so often.

It doesn’t matter. The Packers need difference-makers on defense and they need them now.
