Pacman Jones: Antonio Brown faked it and deserves a ‘Grammy’

By now you’ve seen Vontaze Burfict’s partially successful spearing of Antonio Brown from Saturday night’s AFC playoff game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jones didn’t buy that.

“Man, Antonio Brown was not hurt”, he said. Jones, talking about the penalty he received for bumping an official after he exchanged words with Joey Porter, pointed out that the Steelers assistant coach was still on the field after Brown had walked off and “winked at us and everything”. If you look in slow motion of the play, you tell me that Vontaze hit him in the head or did his should pad barely touch him (emphasis his)’. “I know he was faking”, Jones said.

Brown, meanwhile, remains in the concussion protocol and will need to be cleared by an independent neurologist before returning to the field. “He flopped. He needs a [expletive] Academy Award for that performance”.

Jones, who came out strongly in support of head coach Marvin Lewis and his handling of players, said that the game was not officiated fairly. The penalty moved the Steelers into field goal range and a subsequent penalty on Jones pushed Pittsburgh even closer for a 35-yard field goal that won the game.

@btsteelcurtain @TheSteelersWire this is the greatest thing ever, the Joey Porter “got ya” face – 55 for President!

“It was a penalty, that’s what I think”, linebacker James Harrison said.

Jones, however, has not apologized for, nor rescinded his comments about Brown.

Then came Burfict’s blindside hit of Ravens’ rookie tight end Maxx Williams in last weekend’s regular-season finale.

Jones went on profanity-laced tirades to the media in the locker room after the game, to an NFL.com reporter over the phone and in a social media posting.
