After meeting with his promoter, Bob Arum, yesterday, the 37-year-old released a statement to announce the news.

“If he wins this fight, we have the idea for a couple of big fights next year”.
On Wednesday, August 10, Arum, alongside Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz, attended a hearing at the Philippine Senate, where the 37-year-old Pacquiao now sits as first-term senator.
There has also been speculation about Floyd Mayweather Jr, whom Pacquiao lost a decision to in May of 2015, returning from retirement.
Vargas (27-1, 10 KOs), a 27-year-old American, said last week he was in talks with Pacquiao’s camp to hold a fight in Las Vegas. Arum is in the Philippines finalizing the WBO world welterweight championship bout between Philippine senator and eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao and current WBO welterweight champion Jessie Vargas of Las Vegas scheduled on November 5 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
He described Vargas as a “tough” opponent for Pacquiao. I thought Manny could have won that fight.
Pacquiao’s manager Michael Koncz confirmed that a promotional tour for the fight would be held from 8-10 September in Los Angeles, USA but a venue for the fight is yet to be announced.
Pacquiao, who rose from an impoverished childhood, said boxing is his main source of income.
Vargas was one of three names in the mix to face Pacquiao in November, alongside WBC welterweight champion Danny Garcia and WBO/WBC super-lightweight boss Terence Crawford.

He has represented southern Sarangani province in the House of Representatives since May 2010, though he has been criticised for seldom showing up for legislative duties due to his preoccupation with boxing. “Manny does, the other Senators do, they all feel and Manny feels that he can train here in Manila and not miss any sessions, fight in the period when the Senate is in recess, and give a great performance”, Arum said.
