Padmaavat is based on the 16th century poem Padmavat by Malik Muhammad Jayasi. As the film inches closer to its release, the magazine shares insights into the journey of the Superstardom Deepika Padukone achieved in her career so far.

Though the premise here offers the filmmaker to showcase some macho power on screen, Bhansali skips the part.
The whole movie runs around a single man who is none other than Ranveer Singh. This has happened as per CBFC instructions and the protests by Karni Sena, makers of Padmaavat decided on using VFX effects to hide Deepika’s 3-inches bare mid-riff from the Ghoomar song.
Padmaavat story: It is an epic period drama that narrates the story of Rajput queen Padmavati, who committed jauhar to protect herself from Khilji.
Storyline: The power-hungry Turkish-Afghan ruler, Allauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) invades India and becomes the ruler of the Delhi empire. “When I go through them I wonder, ‘Oh God, when will I ever make them?’ Imagine the films I could make”. He also sets eyes on his wife, Queen Padmavati (Deepika Padukone), and decides to use the friendship way to conquer both Padmavati and the Rajput Kingdom. Whether it was Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam or Ram Leela or Bajirao Mastani or now Padmaavat, the sheer grandeur of his films have left the audience awestruck. Her chemistry with Kapoor is something which brings a unique feeling to the overall story. However, the external factors may affect the film severely, especially in the first week.
The climax with all of the Rani’s female entourage fighting off the advances of Khilji by hurling hot coal bricks on him, is a reverberant homage to Ketan Mehta’s Mirch Masala. Indeed this is a film that pays a homage to the greatest filmmakers of the country Raj Kapoor and K. Asif and succeeds in going beyond the vision of these two filmmakers.
It is Singh’s performance that is the singular highlight of the film.
The cast: Each actor plays his/her role with more than due diligence.
“It’s the least we could do for a project that has gone through so much”. Needless to say the latter performed better at the box office. Singh’s strength lies in the craziness of Khilji and his passion for Padmavati and although one can’t promise that you’ll identify with all of his actions, he is absolutely an actor you will respect all the more after this film.

Bhansali also thanked Akshay for the gesture and said, “Akshay should get a huge round of applause for this gesture because this is really something unheard of”.
