Power had only two top-five finishes in the first seven races this season.
Team Penske’s Will Power bounced back from qualifying disappointment to win the second race of the IndyCar weekend double-header at Detroit on Sunday.
Will Power, another Penske star, had a shifting issue with about 25 laps to go and finished 20th.
Rain has postponed the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Pocono Raceway until Monday.
Power passed Team Penske teammate Simon Pagenaud on the restart on Lap 53, and while that only was for fifth place, the other cars in front of them still had to pit for fuel.
Thirty laps into the 70-lap event, Pagenaud led, Kanaan was second, Castroneves third, Hunter-Reay fourth and Power fifth. Munoz hit Hinchcliffe, pushing the Indianapolis 500 victor into the outside wall. Races feature ramps set up throughout the course, and trucks can be launched six metres in the air, covering around 50 metres, with the risk of accident and injury always present. A part failure sent him into the wall Saturday, and Sunday afternoon, heading into Corner 1 on the first lap, he was shoved aside and ran out of racing room again contacting the wall and finishing his day early. After the controversial move Power pulled on Montoya yesterday, Montoya threw caution to the wind by diving to Will’s inside into the arena section.
Power finally won a race, ending a 19-race drought over the past 13 months, capturing the nightcap to the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit. “… We had massive setbacks over the winter that really shook the whole tree down”.
Dixon, who won at Belle Isle in 2012 when the track buckled and cracked, kept his cool, sliced through the field and made up a ton of positions toward the finish.
Munoz, whose vehicle had damage, labored through the second race of the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit and finished 15th. The Australian missed the first race of the season in St. Petersburg, Florida, after symptoms from a severe sinus infection were mistakenly diagnosed as a concussion. Bourdais was still in second after that, and he re-took the lead when Daly made his stop.
After the Lap 39 restart, Brazilian Helio Castroneves overtook Pagenaud for the lead.

Belle Isle’s twin bill over the weekend took its toll on Power and Bourdais, two of the fitter drivers in IndyCar.
