Paisley Park to become museum, tours to start in October

Only a few hundred people have ever been inside Paisley Park, Nelson said, but now fans from around the globe will be able to step into the world of Prince Rogers Nelson. Thousands of Prince artifacts will also be featured on the tour, including concert memorabilia, automobiles and motorcycles, giving fans a first-hand view of what it was like for Prince to create, perform, and live inside his private sanctuary.

Graceland Holdings, the company that runs Elvis Presley’s Graceland estate as a visitor attraction, will operate Paisley Park, located in Chanhassen, Minnesota.

The court dismissed an objection, filed by a prisoner who says he is Prince’s son, that it was premature to monetize Paisley Park amid disputes over heirship.

After Prince’s untimely death, Paisley Park became a gathering place for fans bearing flowers, tears and hugs. Standard tickets will cost $38.50 (£29), and VIP tours will be offered for small groups priced at more than $100 (£75). Ticket will go on sale on Friday for $38.50, with daily tours expected to begin October 6.

Prince opened Paisley Park in the Minneapolis suburb of Chanhassen in 1985.

Tours will include studios where Prince recorded as well as the soundstage where he rehearsed for tours and hosted exclusive private concerts. Paisley Park After Dark events continued up to the week of the legend’s death.

In addition to the opening of the Paisley Park museum, Prince will be remembered and memorialized with an official family tribute concert on October 13, 2016 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Prince Rogers Nelson knew how to turn it the fuck out.
