In the latestembarrassment to the Centre, the Ministry of Culture in its Independence Day celebration video has shown a Chinese built JF-17 fighter jet flying with an Indian flag.

The video, posted on Twitter, was, however, removed after the many people pointed out that the jets were in fact Pakistani aircraft.
The opening portion of the Indian Culture Ministry’s over one-minute video celebrating “70 years of Independence” featured an animated sequence of the two JF-17 flying with the Indian flag, however, it was removed after some officials of the government pointed out the goof-up. But when contacted, ministry officials refused to comment.
The JF-17 Thunder multi-role fighter has been jointly developed by China and Pakistan, the report stated.
According to an insider, the fighter jet looks similar to India’s indigenously developed Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas and there has been much debate and analysis on their comparative capabilities. Both are single-engine jets but the Tejas does not have tailplanes while the JF-17’s air intakes are located further forward on the fuselage.
Pakistan has already inducted the JF-17 and is also manufacturing them locally.

The full-page advertisement, which appeared in several Pakistani newspapers, featured the Indian Navy’s Delhi, Godavari and Talwar-class warships. The Pakistan Navy had in 2011 used Indian warships in one its own advertisements.
