Pak minister calls Mohenjo Daro figment of Ashutosh Gowariker’s imagination; seeks apology

He has asked for an apology from the director of the Hrithik Roshan starrer for committing factual errors and making a mockery of the 5000 year old civilization.

He said he would shortly convey expostulations and Sindh’s reaction to ‘the director concerned In accordance with Shah, the film depicted nothing but figments of imagination of filmmakers and had nothing related to history of Mohenjo Daro.

The minister demanded an apology from the makers of the film, adding that he was really upset with the makers, especially considering that Mohenjo Daro is a Unesco heritage site.

Ever since the film’s trailer released, people have constantly been pointing at the distortion of historical facts in the film.

Critics and film lovers are not happy with the latest Bollywood flick “Mohenjo Daro” and so is Sindh Minister for Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Sardar Ali Shah.

Released on August 12, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Sunita Gowariker marks the introduction of Pooja Hegde and produces the movie.

Mohenjodaro is an ancient Indus Valley Civilisation city that flourished between 2600 and 1900 BC. The fact that it clashed with Akshay Kumar’s Rustom – a film which has gone on to make a huge profit at the domestic box office – also had an impact on expectations from Mohenjo Daro.
