“If BJP loses Bihar elections even by chance, though victory or defeat will happen in Patna, firecrackers would be burst in Pakistan”, he told an election rally here in East Champaran district.

“Mohammed Shahabuddin will be happier than Nitish Kumar and Lalu Yadav if the Grand Secular Alliance comes to power in Bihar, you have to decide what you want atank raj or vikas raj (jungle raj or development)”, the BJP president said.

Rival parties have criticised Mr Shah’s comment as an attempt at polarising voters.

Shah made the statement in Raxaul which borders Nepal during campaigning for the fourth phase of Bihar elections due to be held on November 1 in 55 constituencies.

Shah said the people needs to cast their votes properly to get rid of terrorism. It’s not Nitish nor Lalu but Shahbuddin (former RJD MP languishing in jail facing many serious criminal charges) said Shah seeking to remind the crowd of “reign of terror” of criminal-turned-politician Shahbuddin in Siwan.

Ruling Janata Dal-United spokesperson K C Tyagi condemned Amit Shah’s statement and said the party would complain to the Election Commission on Friday. That is why he calls the grand alliance a “shaitan” and “three idiots”.
