“Normal operations have been resumed”, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) spokesman Danyal Gilani said, adding that domestic and international flights would be running.

As per the announcement, fares on Karachi-Islamabad-Karachi and Karachi-Lahore-Karachi would now be starting from Rs 7,500 while return tickets for Umrah would start from Rs 54,500 for passengers from Lahore and Islamabad and Rs 44,500 from Karachi.
The reduction in fares comes a day after Joint action Committee of PIA employees announced the end of its strike against the proposed privatisation of airline.
Hundreds of worldwide and domestic flights were cancelled during the strike. He also added that the assurance given to us by the government to resolve issues is enough to make us call off the strike. When asked if the JAC had retracted from its demands, Baloch said he will “apprise media about the developments after meeting with the Punjab chief minister”.
Baloch said thanks to the intervention of a ‘good friend, ‘ the major issues between PIA’s employees and government have been resolved, and there was no reason to keep the flight operations suspended. The passengers can go to airports according to their reservation schedule.
Employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) stand in front of their office after closing it in protest against the privatization of the company in Peshawar, Pakistan February 3, 2016.
Under the bill, Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (PIAC) is to be converted into a public limited company as Pakistan International Airlines Company Limited (PIACL).

The government planned PIA’s privatisation as it runs into losses mainly because of over-staffing.
