Kashmir is divided between India and Pakistan and claimed in its entirety by both.

The Congress general secretary earlier in the day used Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) for Kashmir while attempting to corner Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the present state of affairs in the valley.

According to India Today, the Indian government will established a 24/7 control room to monitor the signals received from the Israeli technology installed throughout the Kashmir Valley and the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan.

Pakistan says most United Nations security council members aware of continued human rights abuse.

“We will continue to encourage worldwide community to uphold promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the parts of J&K under illegal occupation of Pakistan, and hold the concerned accountable for their violation”, Swarup said. The Balochistan issue is reported to be somewhat similar to what Kashmir is to India.

The Pakistani offer of talks came amid a spike in tensions following the unrest in Kashmir, triggered by the killing of Burhan Wani by security forces in July.

“He’s (Modi) either appeasing hardliners at home or deliberately signaling to Pakistan in an effort to strengthen India’s hand in future discussions”, said Vikram J Singh, a former Obama Administration official who served in key positions in State Department.

He read a condemnation resolution against Indian prime minister, which was adopted by the people, who attended the ceremony. And while the terms of dialogue that India has now presented are wholly keeping in line with Indian interests, nevertheless they do provide an opening into the initiation of dialogue into the Kashmir issue. This was the first instance of an Indian PM using a platform such as Red Fort to tell that New Delhi too can target its integrity and unity the way Pakistan does.

“At appropriate time, we will further take action in this regard”, he said. “We are awaiting the confirmation of his participation”, he added.
