Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in 4th ODI

Can Pakistan nail down the series win, or will Sri Lanka force the series to go down to the fifth ODI to decide a victor?

Lahiru Thirimanne (90) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (50) were the top scorers for Sri Lanka.

Ninth-ranked Pakistan are seeking a series win to remain in contention for a place in the eight-nation Champions Trophy in England in 2017.

The two T20 internationals between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on July 30 and August 1 respectively.

Hafeez then edged behind to Dinesh Chandimal – the keeper clinging on to the catch at the third try – but Shoaib Malik (29no from 16 balls) swatted four sixes to lead Pakistan home alongside Sarfaraz Ahmed (17no). The pair put on 115 runs for the second wicket.

“There was no real penetration in our bowling attack”, he said.

“It was disappointing in all departments, we honestly haven’t played the best cricket that we know and we are known for”, he said.

Sri Lanka have named five uncapped players in their 15-man squad for the forthcoming Twenty20 series against Pakistan.

Sri Lanka were able to add 70 from the last nine overs, though, with their lower order, including Milinda Siriwardana (19 from 11 balls) and Lasith Malinga (17 from 13), finding the fence. The match was also intervened due to a crowd trouble, but the play was later resumed.
