Children are believed to have been working, but that has not been officially confirmed.

According to reports, the collapse occurred as the third floor of the building was under construction, above two operational floors.

Rescue workers digging for survivors with construction equipment had recovered 35 people so far, many with minor injuries, said Kashif Nazir, one rescue worker at the scene.

The military said it was flying in a team of engineers and experts to Lahore to take part in the rescue.
